Inez Arnold January 2, 1934 – April 20, 2023

Inez Arnold, age 89 of Gatesville, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 24, at the First Methodist Church in Gatesville, with Rev. Bobby Weathers and Rev. Stephen Schmidt officiating.  Interment followed at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, near Evant. 

Edith Inez Arnold was born on January 2, 1934, in the Pearl community of Coryell County, to the late Charley and Edith Walker Freeman.  She graduated from Pearl High School in 1951 and married Aubrey K. (Shorty) Arnold in the summer of 1951.  Over the span of thirty-plus years, they owned and operated several nursing homes in the surrounding area.  She joined the Methodist church at a young age and was a member of First Methodist Church in Gatesville.  Her husband preceded her on January 1, 2014.  Inez enjoyed traveling with her friends, playing Bridge, dancing, summers in Ruidoso, New Mexico and hunting with her sons at a younger age.  She was known for entertaining and hosting annual Super Bowl parties at her home.

She was also preceded in death by a one-year-old daughter, Angela Arnold and brother, John L. Freeman.

Inez is survived by two sons, Ashley Arnold and Johnny Arnold; sister, Dolious Williamson; nieces and nephews, Ricky Williamson, Sheila McFarlin, Kim Holden and husband, Billy and Steve Freeman.
