Ty Warren named Gatesville salutatorian

Ty Carden Warren, son of Steve and Codie Warren, will be graduating as the salutatorian of the Gatesville High School class of 2023.

He has been a member of the National Honor Society during his junior and senior years.

Warren’s notable awards include the Most Outstanding Student selected by the GHS staff, Outstanding Student Awards for the High School Math Department, OnRamps Chemistry, AP Calculus, OnRamps Pre-cal, Algebra II, Pre-AP Chemistry, Geometry, Pre-AP Biology, Robotics, and Engineering. He will have completed 37 college hours by the time he graduates.

While maintaining his GPA, Warren has had a successful career on the tennis court. He has been a part of the varsity tennis team that has earned the fall team tennis district title the past three seasons. During spring tennis, Warren and his doubles partner advanced to the Class 4A regional tennis tournament in mixed doubles in both his sophomore and junior year. To complete his senior spring season, he and his boys doubles partner won the regional tennis tournament and reached the quarterfinals in the state tournament. He has earned Boys Singles and Doubles 1st Team All-District honors three years, Academic All-District four years, and 1st Team Academic All-State his senior year. Twice Hornet Radio presented him with their Player of the Week patch.

In addition, Warren participated in PALS (Peer Assistance Leadership and Service) his junior and senior years, in which he was awarded the All-Star PAL. This fall, Ty will be attending Texas A&M University where he has been accepted into the College of Engineering.
