The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed one person in Coryell County on Dec. 21.
The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and Knowles Road. According to a report by Texas DPS, a Dodge Ram truck was traveling eastbound on 84 at an “unsafe speed” on wet roads before it hydroplaned and collided into a Honda Civic.
Texas DPS identifies the driver of the Honda Civic as 57-year-old Donna Marie Henry from Gatesville. The report says Henry was pronounced dead at the scene and that their relatives have been notified.
The Dodge Ram truck was operated by a 29-year-old male from Robinson, Texas. The name of the Dodge driver has not been released.
Texas DPS troopers would like to remind drivers to reduce their speed when road conditions are unfavorable and to drive defensively as millions of Texans hit the road this holiday season.
