Team Gatesville competed in an Area 12 Special Olympics track and field competition held at Joseph Searles III Stadium this past week, and many athletes were awarded medals.
The awards included:
Caitlin Clough won a gold medal in the 25-meter wheelchair race and won gold in the 25-meter assisted walk.
Jon Hannold won a silver medal in the softball throw and won a fifth-place ribbon in the 50-meter run.
Hope Lacefield won a gold medal in the softball throw and a bronze medal in the 50-meter walk.
Tristen Tidrick won a bronze medal in the softball throw and won a gold medal in the 50-meter walk.
Addison Van De Water won a silver medal in the softball throw and won a gold medal in the 25-meter run.
Team Gatesville will soon compete in San Antonio for their Summer State Games with more information to come.
