TDA recognizes Gatesville ISD as 2023 Prime Player

The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) has recently completed the first United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and has recognized Gatesville Independent School District as a 2023 Prime Player.  

Gatesville ISD used more than 95% of its allocated entitlement to feed students nutritious meals using USDA foods agricultural products. 

Many benefits can occur from effectively using USDA foods such as serving meals that include quality American grown products at a discounted price, effectively managing child nutrition budgets, and giving an easier navigation of delayed processing timelines. 

Gatesville ISD will receive a letter from Commissioner Sid Miller, a letter from the TDA Assistant Commissioner Lena Wilson, a certificate, and a PowerPoint with talking points to present at school board meetings.
