Mike is the Finance and Human Resources Director for the City of Gatesville. He has been in his position since Jan. 2021. “I enjoy working with everyone at the city and meeting new people in the community,” Halsema said. He moved to Gatesville from Denton County with his wife in 2021. He enjoys the small town feel as well as the locally-owned restaurants. “I also love the car show on the square, and have been going since I moved here,” Halsema said.
Mike reads The Gatesville Messenger and said, “I like the Messenger’s focus on the community and surrounding areas. I think it is vital to have a local newspaper.”
