Retired School Personnel were on hand during the holidays at the Gatesville Care Center. They helped to unload about 20 or more boxes of books and set them out for display on two 8-foot tables at the center. Clients of the Care Center were allowed to select Christmas gifts including several toys, games, stocking stuffers, and books for their children who were 12 years old or younger. Others who helped on this project at the Care Center included Nancy Morgan, Audra Wallace, and Gail Johnson. The Coryell Retired School Personnel (CRSP), as a part of its Children’s Book Project for TRTA, delivered 287 books to the Primary School for the Pre-K and Kindergarten students. An additional 216 books were delivered to the Gatesville Elementary School for 1st graders. The same was done for Pre-K through 1st grade at Jonesboro ISD with 67 books and Oglesby ISD with 65 books with an additional 38 books for their library. Children enrolled In Head Start last spring and this fall were presented books by the local Retired School Personnel (CRSP). In addition to providing one book per child, miscellaneous books are sometimes donated to the Head Start program to support or enhance their curriculum.
