Plans underway for the 21st annual Spurfest in September

The Board of Directors at the Coryell Museum and Historical Center are in the early stages of planning for the 21st annual Spurfest that will be held in September. Board members came up with a tentative outline of activities, games and events that will take place during Spurfest.

Children’s games and activities will include pin the tail on the donkey, ping pong toss, cactus toss, a coloring contest, a ranger oath and a jail picture.

Various activities which will also take place during Spurfest including book signings, biscuits and gravy at the chuckwagon, butter churning demonstrations, cowboy talk and music, a tour of the drug store, a guess the beans contest, a quilt raffle, hourly drawings and music including Ed Leonard, dulcimer music, a jazz band and Ramey Moore.

More details about the 21st annual Spurfest will be announced by the museum over the next few months.
