The Pearl Church of Christ will have their 128th Homecoming and Reunion on Oct. 15th. Remember, church begins at 10:30 a.m., and dinner on the grounds will follow. Plaques will be given to the youngest attending, oldest attending, longest attending member, couple married the longest, and for the person who traveled the longest distance. Drive your vintage cars if you have one and join the fellowship, fun, and good preaching in Pearl! Everyone is invited!
The next Pearl Cemetery workday is set for Saturday, Oct. 14, at 9 a.m., weather permitting. If the weather does not cooperate, it will be rescheduled for Oct. 21.
The next Pearl Cottage Bookstore Day and Bluegrass event will be Oct. 7. Be there or be square! You don’t want to miss the awesome music, wonderful shopping, and the most fun of all—visiting with friends old and new.

Excerpt from The Pleasure and Profit Club—October 26, 1933: “The Club met with Mrs. Bessie Smith. The afternoon was spent in quilting and hemming cup towels. We finished the quilt, which was made of tobacco sacks and lacked a very small part of finishing the other one. We hemmed inside cup towels. During our business meeting we discussed going to the Club Rally at Purmela. There were 13 who decided to go. We also discussed changing our business meeting back to 4 p.m. but decided to try it a few more times at 2:30 p.m. We adjourned to meet with Miss Ona Jones Nov. 9. Delicious sandwiches, cake, and grape punch were served to the members and a number of visitors also. Odell returned back to the club.” (Wouldn’t it be fun to go back in time and go to that meeting?)
