The Peer Assistance and Leadership (PALS) program recently held a banquet and award presentation ceremony at the Gatesville High School auditorium to honor the students involved.

The program, spearheaded by Star Hamilton and Justin Brumfield, guided the GHS students into being mentors and examples for the younger Gatesville Independent School District students.

The seniors who were presented with their graduation cords during the presentation included Payton Armstrong, Slone Early, Vielka Gonzales, Kason Herbelin, America Hernandez, Wyatt Lea, Ben Mabry, Khloe Matthews, Rylee Oliver, Grace Penrod, Alex Scott, Jose Silva, Jordan Underwood, Ty Warren, and Hayleigh Wilson.

During the ceremony, testimonials about the PALS program were given by senior Kason Herbelin, and juniors Jasmine Olivar and Cameron Baker. The testimonials were followed by the induction of the sophomore class into the program.

The evening concluded with the second annual PALS scholarship of $250, presented to senior Ben Mabry. The All-Star PALS award was presented to senior Ty Warren for his outstanding service to the program.

Following the presentations, refreshments were served to the parents, students, and friends in attendance.
