Oglesby Junior High Tigers finish their season, 12-1

The Oglesby Tiger junior high boys won the district 14A basketball championship on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the district tournament in Aquilla.

In game one, the Tigers defeated the Cransfill Gap Lions 24 to 10. The starters only played three minutes in this contest, giving the younger Tigers an opportunity to play and gain experience.

Evan Williamson scored seven points, one rebound, and one steal. Holdyn Goff scored four points, had two rebounds, and one assist. Blayze Fisher hit three points and had one steal. Couper Wulfkhule scored two points, had two rebounds, and one steal. Rancher Jeffcoat scored four points, three rebounds, and one steal. Keagan Redford made one free throw. AJ Mafra had two rebounds and one steal. Mason Marquez had two rebounds and one steal. 

In game two, the Tigers defeated the Abbott Panthers 40 to 30 to advance to the championship.

Holdyn Goff led the scoring with 26 points, 16 rebounds for a double/double, four steals, and three assists. Evan Williamson dropped in 11 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Mason Marquez hit one free throw and three rebounds. Blayze Fisher rounded out the scoring with two points. 

In game three for the district championship, the Tigers defeated the unbeaten Mt. Calm Panthers 47 to 26 to win the district 14A basketball championship and bring home another trophy.

Holdyn Goff ended his junior high career matching his number with 23 points, 12 rebounds for a double/double, one assist, and two steals. Evan Williamson ended his junior high career with 19 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Mason Marquez finished his junior high career with three points and three rebounds. Keagan Redford added two points.

The Tigers finished their 2023 to 2024 season with 12 wins and one loss.
