Coushatta, Louisiana will never be the same after Chad and Sara Jo Poynter visited there last week. They went with a couple of friends from Gatesville. Chad enjoyed playing golf and Sara Jo enjoyed a swamp tour.

Paul and Rachel Hopson and children, Noah and Benjamin Hopson have returned home after a trip to Port Aransas. Others who went were Caleb and Morgan Estes and children Kennedy, Kate and Collin Estes of Gatesville and Mark Ramburger of Bruceville-Eddy.

Jackson Kinnear of Dallas and Samuel Shepherd of Bastrop spent a week with Devan and Staci Kinnear. They are nephews of Staci Kinnear.

Richard, Nellie and Tori Carruth and Elizabeth Phillips went to the Devils River in the southwest Texas part of the Rio Grande.

Cynthia McCarthy of Boston, Massachusetts recently spent a week in Mound with Martha Lawhorn and family.

Martha Lawhorn, Ray and John Stephens, and Mike and Donna Schultz attended the Quebe Sisters performance in Austin Thursday evening at the Circle 4 Center Performing Arts Theater. The Quebe Sisters are cousins of Martha Lawhorn.

Zach and Amanda Long celebrated their third wedding anniversary with a trip to Lake Buchanan.

Holly, Ruby, Truett and Jacklyn Pullen of Rockwall, and Kenneth Dixon, Chad, Sara, Jaryn and Lyndi Poynter of Gatesville were Thursday evening dinner guests of Nancy Dixon and Barbara Hopson. The Pullen family also spent the night with their aunt and great-aunt, Barbara Hopson.

Matti Mann attended the Citizenship Washington Focus last week with some of the Coryell County Senior Ambassadors.

Lillie Mann attended music camp at the high school and performed in a Kids Life musical at school. She also had her end of the year dance recital with Silver Stars Dance.

Will, Jennifer, Matti and Lillie Mann went to Fredericksburg for the 4th of July weekend.

Mound lost one of its residents, Mr. Roy Steven Reynolds, Sr., who died Friday, June 24. There will be a Celebration of Life held this fall, with the time and date to be determined. Mr. Reynolds, Sr. is the husband of Mrs. Delecia (Dee) Robin. Mr. Reynolds will truly be missed.

Several people of Mound attended a funeral service for Mr. Ray Ellis Bishop Saturday morning at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville. Burial was in Restland Cemetery. Ray will truly be missed by his family and many friends.

Several people of Mound attended the 4th of July Fireworks Show in Gatesville Monday evening.
