Little Miss Emma Beth Hopson was born Wednesday evening on July 13, 2022, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple to Paul and Rachel Hopson. The baby weighed 8.5 pounds and was 18.5 inches long. Emma has two older brothers, Noah Truett and Benjamin Hopson. Grandparents are DeElva Grubb, and David and Pam Hopson.

Little Mr. Sterlin Shults was honored on his first birthday last Saturday by his parents, Scott and Kelby Shults. The theme was “How the West was One” at the Don and Sue Jones roping pen. There were petting farm animals, hot dogs, homemade ice cream and lots of fun.

Mound Cowboy Church and White Mound Baptist Church are having their annual Vacation Bible School, July 24-28. Registration is scheduled for Sunday afternoon from 4:30-5:30 p.m. VBS starts at 5:30 p.m. and lasts until 8:30 p.m. each evening. This year’s theme is “Concrete and Cranes, Buying on the Foundation of Jesus.” This year’s director is Mrs. Stacie Combs. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the fellowship.

White Mound Baptist Church took 30 kids to Next Level Kidz Kamp in Latham Springs this past weekend and they had a fantastic time.

Desiree, Julia, Brooke, and Reese Dixon of Liberty Hill spent a few days in Mound last week with Nancy Dixon and Barbara Hopson. While here, Julia, Brooke and Reese attended volleyball camp in Gatesville. Julia and Brooke attended Kidz Kamp at Latham Springs and Aquilla with the Mound Cowboy Church and White Mound Baptist Church Children’s Group.

Coryell County 4-H members recently attended the County 4-H Camp at the Texas 4-H Center in Brownwood. Fourteen youths, accompanied by two adults, enjoyed camp activities including kayaking, leather crafts, low ropes, course, archery, rifle range, a rock wall climb and everyone’s favorite evening activity and the dance. Allie McPherson of Mound attended for the second year.

Ruby Caroline Pullen of Rock Wall, great-niece of Barbara Hopson, competed in the Elite Barrel Race Summer Sizzle this past weekend in Waco. Ruby and her horse Stella placed first in the 2D. They won some money and a belt buckle.

Christina and Rebekah Stephens of Flower Mound is spending a week with their grandparents, Ray and John Stephens. They all visited Sunday evening with Martha Lawhorn.

Sue Jones, and Kelby and Sterlin Schults spent a couple of days in Anson with Cody, Jennifer, Jesse and Claira Cochran.

Bobby Carothers was honored for his birthday with a dinner Thursday evening with his family.

Debbie Piller celebrated her birthday Wednesday evening. Her family gathered for cake and a celebration at her home in Mound.

Carolyn and Emma Blakley went camping with Nell and Christy Helms Saturday.

Carolyn and Emma Blakley went to College Station Wednesday to move Emma to her set up to start her second year of college.
