Hopson Quarter Horses had a jockey representing them in Oklahoma this past weekend at the Ruby Buckle.  Ruby Pullen, on her horse, Bizzy, ran a 17.2 on a standard pattern Sunday placing them fourth in the round for the Youth Open, fourth in the Youth Average, and 12th in the round for the 2D Open.  They will compete next weekend at the Vegas Tuffest Qualifier in Childress.  Ruby Caroline Pullen of Rockwall is the niece of Barbara Hopson.

Keron Jackson of Dallas stayed with Don and Sue Jones this past weekend while he was doing a revival at Mound Cowboy Church and White Mound Baptist Church.

Sunday guests of Don and Sue Jones were Keron Jackson, Bruce and Suzy Cox, Scott, Kelby and Sterlin Shults, and Case and Kristen Jones.

Martha Ann Lawhorn attended the funeral service for Inez Arnold on April 24, at the First Methodist Church in Gatesville.  Burial followed at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery near Evant.

Barbara Herndon and Doris Hoff of Gatesville visited Sunday afternoon with Martha Lawhorn.

Delecia Reynolds was honored on her 75th birthday Friday with a luncheon at the home of Barbara Hopson.  Those attending were Margaret Hopson, Sue Jones, and John Stephens.

Alan McCorkle of Buda and Brian McCorkle visited during the weekend with their mother, Elizabeth McCorkle.

Several sixth graders of Mound attended the annual Father/Daughter Dance at the Gatesville Civic Center Saturday evening.

Kathi Taylor visited Sunday afternoon in Gatesville with her mother, Sue Magee.

Emma Blakley of College Station was home for the weekend to visit with her relatives and friends.

Robert and Carolyn Blakley attended a retirement party for Eugene Worthington Saturday in Waco.
