Little Miss Emma Beth Hopson was honored for her very first birthday Sunday afternoon with a party with the theme (Let’s Flamingle) at the home of her grandparents, David and Pam Hopson. Those attending were family and friends.

Samuel Belt, Kinsey Gardner, and Costin Allison travelled to The Royal Highland Show in Edinburg, Scotland where they competed in the livestock judging contest. Only a select few teams from the United States qualified to travel and join the Young Farmers Association in Scotland to compete at their county fair. The Coryell County team visited Scotland, Ireland, and London over a two-week period and were taken on many tourist attractions and farm visits where they could see how farming in the UK compared to the United States.

Frank and Susie Hopson have returned home from a trip with cooler weather. They spent time in Vancouver, B.C. and then took a cruise up the coastline of Alaska aboard The Sea Whisper.

Kelsey Sage spent the week in Gulf Shores, AL. She enjoyed time relaxing on the beach with her parents, Randy and Tracy Sage. Brother Cal Sage and niece Davie Sage also joined in the fun.

Bobby and Nelda Carothers are settling into their vacation house on Lake LBJ, in Marble Falls.

Mound Cowboy Church and White Mound Baptist Church children’s group with Jennifer Mann took twenty-eight kids to Kidz Kamp at Latham Springs Camp & Retreat Center in Aquilla for a week. There were six decisions for Christ. This year’s theme was BOLD FOR CHRIST.

The Mound community would like to say congratulations to Miss Aubree Ann and Olivia Lois Long. They are the children of Zach and Amanda Long.

Aubree Ann Long had her final run in the Gatesville Riding Club saddle series with her new saddle and Olivia Lois Long won a buckle in the Gatesville Play Day event Saturday.

Mr. Felton Romane Thompson died Wednesday July 12. Graveside services were held Monday morning at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville. Mr. Thompson went to school in the Mound community and graduated from Gatesville High School. Felton was the cousin of the late Lois (Cole) Hopson.

Summer McClellan and Ashley Danielle Hartman of Fort Worth visited over the weekend with Frank and Susie Hopson.

McKenzie Jagger and Jonsey Newman of Gatesville visited one day during the week with Don and Sue Jones.

Several people of Mound attended the 77th annual Hampton Family Reunion at the Historic Pearl Community Center (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) July 14 to 16.
