On February 17, The Gatesville Messenger ran an article titled “If these walls could talk,” which told the story of a sealed stairwell and a forgotten upstairs room on the west side of the courthouse square. After decades of being sealed, the stairwell leading up to the third story of the building was recently opened for repairs and then re-sealed. In the abandoned stairwell, several photographs were located scattered on the floor.
