Keep Gatesville Beautiful names their July Yard of the Month

Keep Gatesville Beautiful chose the home of Janis Bell at 201 Bluebonnet Street in Fort Gates for their July Yard of the Month.

The Keep Gatesville Beautiful judges thought the charming home and radiant yard were a pleasure to behold. Bell takes care of the lawn and plants and tends her own flower beds. Her St. Augustine lawn is lush without using fertilizer, but she does give it ample water. Her landscape includes Arizona ash trees, crepe myrtles, mandeville, caladiums, canas, petunias and lantana.

Next to her American flag, Bell has an old antique farm cultivator implement that belonged to her great-great-grandfather who farmed in Coryell County in Leon Junction where Bell grew up.
