Keep Gatesville Beautiful names June “Yard of the Month”

There were lots of good yards to choose from this month, but Keep Gatesville Beautiful chose the home of Larry Carroll and Brenda Shelton as our winner for June Yard of the Month. 

This home, located at 625 State School Road, stood out to us with its country charm, colorful flowers and neat as a pin yard and vegetable stand. They have a vegetable garden and fruit trees including a couple of apple trees that Larry started from the seeds of an apple. He says he grew up on a farm in the Holland area and has been farming/ gardening his whole life. In fact, farming goes back a few generations in his family. He gets up early in the mornings to water every other day. They not only work in their own place, but they pick up trash along State School Road near their home. A granddaughter, Kiera, is shown with them in the photo.
