It’s 4-H enrollment time

Posted

It’s time to enroll in 4-H for the year! As the largest youth development program in the nation, 4-H offers kids a chance to develop life skills, make new friends, learn about their communities, and have fun! After joining a club, youths participate in projects of their choosing while learning leadership skills, social skills, and to serve in their community.

Coryell County 4-H has approximately 400 members each year, and Texas 4-H has more than 555,000 youth who are involved in 4-H project experiences.

With 42 projects to choose from, 4-H offers youth an opportunity to pursue their interests and explore those that interest them. The projects are divided into five key areas: Family & Community Health, STEM, Leadership and Citizenship, Natural Resources, and Agriculture and Livestock.

All 4-H projects are offered under the leadership of the county extension agents and volunteers who lead project groups, coach judging teams, and serve as advisors for 4-H projects. Coryell County has 13 clubs open for membership.

Information about the county 4-H program is available in the current membership guide on the homepage of the Coryell County AgriLife website (http://coryell.agrilife.org).
