Girls Powerlifting: Gatesville’s Hornets finished fourth overall at the GHS Invitational. Brookelyn Byrd won a silver medal, while teammates Balyn Roberts, Kasey Fitzer, Kensley Eary and Vielka Gonzalez took bronze.  GHS will compete at the McGregor meet on Saturday.

Boys powerlifting: Hornets finished fifth overall at the GHS Invitational.  David Sims and Gabe Charles pocketed gold medals in their respective weight classes, while L.J. Hall earned a silver medal.  GHS will compete at the McGregor meet on Saturday.

Tennis: Varsity results from the Madisonville tournament: Slone Early won first place in boys singles, and Alex Scott and Ty Warren won the boys doubles.  The GHS Invitational will be held here Friday.

Girls wrestling: GHS finished 7th overall and qualified three wrestlers for this week's regional tournament during Saturday's District 10-5A tourney. Brianna Allen (3-1) earned a silver medal while Taylor Shea (1-1) garnered a bronze medal.  They will be joined at regional by Hannah Aguilar, who placed 5th and is advancing as an alternate.  The Class 5A Region III tournament is scheduled to be held Friday and Saturday at Anna High School.

Boys wrestling: GHS finished 12th overall and qualified two wrestlers for regional competition during Saturday's District 10-5A tournament. Cameron Baker (3-2) finished 4th and advanced to regionals, while David Manear (2-2) was 5th and will go as an alternate.  The regional meet will be held Friday and Saturday at Anna High School.

Boys soccer: Varsity fell to Stephenville 4-1.

Girls soccer: Varsity lost to No. 7-ranked Stephenville 7-0.

Girls basketball: Varsity lost at Salado 64-33.

Boys basketball: Varsity clinched a playoff berth with 59-45 win at Salado. (See story on Page A12).
