In recognition of Dia de los Muertos, the Gatesville High School Spanish Department decorated outside their classrooms.

Dia de los Muertos, which means Day of the Dead, is a holiday observed, especially for those of Mexican descent. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have died.

Spanish teachers Julia Incerpi Diaz, Anita Robles and Sara Olvera, with help from students, created the festive décor with paper.

Students also created an ofrenda, or altar, which is created by family members of a person who has died, to welcome them during the holiday season.
