GHS Boys Soccer has only had four goals scored against them

The Gatesville High School boys’ soccer team is 7-1-1 for the season, outscoring their opponents 37-4 so far. The program is lead by Coach Scott Campbell, who coaches the boys’ and girls’ teams.

The boys team won at Connally Jan. 30, with a final score of 6-0.  GHS scored their first goal 19 seconds into the game. Alex Bueno scored once, Angel Almendariz scored twice, Hector Silva scored twice, and Oswaldo Leon scored once.  Jack Armstrong had two assists, and Abraham Almendariz, Asa Hardcastle, and Bueno each had an assist.

The team is now 1-0 in district and were set to play at Stephenville on Friday.

GHS girls won, 5-2, at Connally. Andrea Ortiz had two goals, and Bethany Penrod, Ally Penrod, and Raisa Leon each had a goal. The girls are 5-3-1, and 1-0 in district. They were also set to play at Stephenville on Friday.
