On June 23 at approximately 11:38 p.m., the Gatesville Police Department received a call of a disturbance in the 2000 block of Waco Street, where one person was reportedly stabbed.
Officers arrived within four minutes and learned the victim was taken by private vehicle to Coryell Health.
Officers discovered that the suspect fled the scene, then learned of her location a short time later. Coryell County deputies responded to the suspect’s location while Gatesville Police officers were processing the incident scene. Deputies remained with the suspect until Gatesville Police officers arrived and determined that her statements were inconsistent with other evidence gathered at the crime scene.
Officers arrested the suspect and transported her to the Coryell County Jail without incident. The suspect was subsequently charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She is identified as Kirstin Poston, a 24-year-old Gatesville resident, according to the GPD.
The victim was transported from Coryell Health to another area hospital for continuing treatment for life-threatening injuries.
