Gatesville Independent School District will host various sports camps throughout the summer including basketball, baseball, tennis, football, softball, volleyball, wrestling, and soccer.
Each camp will be directed by a high school or junior high coach and will be assisted by high school varsity athletes.
There will be opportunities to learn fundamentals and techniques as well as Hornet schemes and terminology.
A concession stand will be available during practices.
2024 summer camps
Girls Basketball: Tuesday, May 28 to Thursday, May 30 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and will be for first through ninth grade. The cost will be $40 per athlete.
Boys Basketball: Monday, June 10 to Wednesday, June 12. First through sixth grade will be from 9 a.m.-noon, and seventh through ninth grade will be from 1- 4 p.m. The cost will be $40 per athlete.
Softball: Monday, June 3 to Wednesday, June 5. First through fifth grade will be from 8-10 a.m., and sixth through ninth grade will be from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The cost will be $40 per athlete.
Baseball: Tuesday, May 28 to Thursday, May 30. First and second grade will be from 8:30-10:30 a.m., third through fifth grade will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and sixth through ninth grade will be from 1-3:30 p.m. The cost will be $40 per athlete.
Volleyball: Monday, July 8 to Wednesday, July 10 will be from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and will be for first through ninth grade. The cost will be $40 per athlete.
Football: Monday, June 3 to Wednesday, June 5 will be from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and will be for first through sixth grade. The cost will be $40 per athlete. Another opportunity will be from Monday, July 29 to Wednesday, July 31 from 7:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. and will be for seventh through ninth grade. The cost will be $40 per athlete.
Tennis: Monday, June 3 to Wednesday, June 5 from 8-10 a.m. and will be for first through ninth grade. The cost will be $40 per athlete.
Wrestling: Monday, July 15 to Friday, July 19 will be from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and will be for first through ninth grade. The cost will be $40 per athlete.
Soccer: The date is TBA (to be announced) as well as the cost. First through sixth grade will be in the spring and fall, and seventh through twelfth grade will be on Sunday afternoons during September and October.
Hornet SWARM speed strength and condition sessions
SWARM camp for seventh and eighth grade athletes will continue through Wednesday, June 3 to Thursday, July 25, and will be from 8:15-9:15 a.m. The cost is free for all athletes.
SWARM camp for ninth through twelfth grade athletes will continue through Wednesday, June 3 to Thursday, July 25, and will be from 7-8 a.m. The cost is free for all athletes.
