The Gatesville High School wrestling team competed in the district 10-5A tournament in Georgetown on Wednesday, Jan. 31, where they went up against class 5A schools. The Hornets qualified six athletes for the upcoming regional competition.
The girls finished seventh in the 15-team field and will be sending four athletes to regionals, which includes Hannah Aguilar, Bri Allen, Ellie Knobloch, and Kylie Williams.
The boys came out 11th overall. Tookie Jones won a gold medal in his respective weight class and will be joined by Nathan Elliot who finished fourth at regionals.
The 5A-Region II tournament will be held on Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10, at Anna High School.
