Garvin presents program to Morris Federation Group

Posted

The Morris Federation recently celebrated Christmas with a Dutch Treat luncheon at The Feed Mill. After a short business meeting, members enjoyed a program presented by Nancy Garvin, who read two Christmas stories for young children.

Garvin’s first selection was Snowmen at Christmas by Caralyn Buehner. It could be described as a snappy and entertaining companion to Snowmen at Night, sharing all the best parts of Christmas such as icy treats and a snowman Kris Kringle. Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree by Robert Barry was Garvin’s second selection.

Barry shares the Christmas Spirit with a whole forest of critters. His Christmas tree arrives, but alas, it is too tall for his parlor. He cuts the top off so it will fit, and soon the top of that tree is passed along again and again to bring holiday cheer to all the animals in the forest. Both books are good reads for children ages 4-7.
