In observance of Christmas, many local businesses and governmental offices will be closed in honor of the annual holiday.
Closings in the immediate area include:
GOVERNMENT
The City of Gatesville and the Coryell County Courthouse will be closed Monday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Dec. 26. The City of Oglesby will be closed from Friday, Dec. 22 through Monday, Dec. 25. The City of Evant will be closed on Friday, Dec. 22; Monday, Dec. 25; and Tuesday, Dec. 26. The Farm Service Agency will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25.
SCHOOLS
Gatesville Independent School District will be closed from Monday, Dec. 18 to Wednesday, Jan. 3. Jonesboro ISD will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 21 to Friday, Jan. 12. Oglesby ISD will be closed from Monday, Dec. 18 to Monday, Jan. 1. Evant ISD will be closed from Friday, Dec. 22 to Friday, Jan. 5. The Boys and Girls Club of Gatesville will be closed from Friday, Dec. 22 to Monday, Jan. 1.
FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS
Extraco Bank, Cadence, Educator’s Credit Union, The First National Bank of Gatesville, Evant, and Oglesby will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25.
POST OFFICES
The post offices of Gatesville, Flat, Jonesboro, Oglesby, Evant, Mound, and Purmela will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25.
LIBRARY
The Gatesville Public Library will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 23; Monday, Dec. 25; and Tuesday, Dec. 26.
SENIOR CENTER
The Gatesville Senior and Multi-Service Center will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 21 to Monday, Dec. 25.
MUSEUM
The Gatesville Museum and Historical Center will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25.
NEWSPAPER
The Gatesville Messenger will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25.
