Posted

Texas A&M AgriLife will be offering a 4-H District 8 Commercial Steer Workshop on Tuesday, July 12, at 5 p.m., at the Wilson Valley Mercantile in Little River – Academy. A meal will be provided at the workshop.

Speakers for the event will be Allie Herring and Jenna Coward. Allie Herring is a student at Texas Tech University and a former Robertson County 4-H member. She received Grand Champion honors after winning the 2020 Houston Commercial Steer Show. She is very knowledgeable and plans to share her expertise and personal experiences starting from the beginning of the feeding period all the way to the plate.

Jenna Coward is a Coryell County 4-H alumni where she has completed and earned 10 consecutive Champion titles at the Coryell County Youth Commercial Steer Show. Her fifth generation ranching background has allowed her to comprehend all aspects of the industry and excel at feeding cattle. Her main goal is to give back to the program that helped develop her character, specifically interview and public speaking skills.

For those wishing to attend the workshop, please RSVP to the Bell County Extension Office at 254-933-5305. For more information, please contact Kyle Coward, Bell County Extension Intern, at kyle.coward@ag.tamu.edu.
