Evant closes with victory

Evant closed its basketball season with a 28-27 win over Lometa on the road Tuesday night. Evant’s 6-foot freshman Kendy Harrell (15) made three 3-pointers and scored 12 points in the victory. Evant’s only other win was over Cranfi lls Gap. Cassie Myers (center) was the only senior on the eight-player squad. Evant was 2-23 on the season.

Seniors win fourth district title

Jonesboro has clinched the District 17-1A girls basketball title and will have a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

Cisco bound
