Sheriff’s Office arrests convicted sex offender

· The Coryell County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) announced on Monday that it has executed an arrest warrant for 47-year-old Blake Wright, on the charge of Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements, a violation of Texas law.

CTC receives $750,000 grant to expand prison education

Central Texas College (CTC) has been awarded a $750,000 grant from the Trellis Foundation to expand educational opportunities for incarcerated students through its Gatesville site.

Mound Cowboy Church and White Mound Baptist Church enjoyed “Riding with Jesus” VBS last week with 57 kids enrolled. The VBS was dedicated to Cheryl Ford who was always so much help in VBS. She was truly missed.Carolyn and Emma Blakley helped with the Mound VBS this past week.

County VFDs receive grant funds

Texas A&M Forest Service recently announced $29 million in grant funds awarded to Texas fire departments.Among them are three Coryell County Volunteer Fire Departments that will receive funds to help them be on the front lines for the county, whenever they are needed.
