In the kitchen display upstairs at the Coryell Museum and Historical Center, visitors will notice an odd contraption which appears to be metal shelves with open sides wrapped with cloth. It predates electric refrigerators and ice boxes.

It is simply known as an evaporative food and milk safe commonly known as Coolgardie safe or drip cooler.
