The Gatesville High School is gearing up for their 2026-2027 Homecoming season by announcing their homecoming court. The court features six seniors that are up for either homecoming king or queen as well as a male and female representative from the freshman, sophomore and junior classes.
The student’s biographies listed below will be organized both by grade, starting with seniors, as well as by alphabetical order.
Gorge Carmona
Gorge Carmona is a senior up for homecoming king. Carmona is a member of the football team, the baseball team and runs track. After graduation he plans on joining the United States Air Force.
Chloe Corp
Chloe Corp is a senior up for homecoming queen. Corp is a member of the Dazzlers drill team. After graduation she plans on attending the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to obtain her BSN to potentially go into nursing.
Branson Hodges
Branson Hodges is a senior up for homecoming king. Hodges is a member of the football team, the baseball team and runs track. After graduation he plans on working underneath his father at Mid-Tex Plumbing with hopes to take over the business at some point in the future.
Charles McLeod
Charles McLeod is a senior up for homecoming king. McLeod is a member of the cross country team, the basketball team, sings in the high school choir, runs track and is involved in the high school’s culinary track. After graduation he plans to join the United States military, particularly the Air Force.
Lily Salter
Lily Salter is a senior up for homecoming queen. Salter is a student athletic trainer and runs track. After graduation she plans to go to college to earn a degree in early childhood education with hopes to teach kindergarten.
Lana Nicole Tyson
Lana Nicole Tyson is a senior up for homecoming queen. Tyson is the cross country manager, used to run for cross country, is a track runner and has earned her CNA certification. After graduation she plans to major in nursing with a specialization in NICU or neonatal nursing, planning to attend both McLennan Community College and Texas Tech University.
Rogan Smith
Rogan Smith is the male representative for the junior class. Smith is a member of the GHS band, a member of the tennis team, participates in academic UIL, has earned his CNA certification, has participated in a Mock Trial and is in the PAL’S program. His current plan for after graduation includes attending college to study nursing.
Emily Webb
Emily Webb is the female representative for the junior class. Webb is a member of the Dazzlers drill team, runs for the cross country team, is a member of the softball team, runs track and has earned her CNA certification. Her current plan for after graduation includes attending college to study pre-med.
AvAigh Basham
AvAigh Basham is the female representative for the sophomore class. Basham is a varsity cheerleader, student athletic trainer, the sophomore class president and is a member of the student council. Her current plan for after graduation includes attending Texas A&M University to study nursing.
Andrew Winkler
Andrew Winkler is the male representative for the sophomore class. Winkler is a member of the school’s basketball team, golf team and is a student athletic trainer. His current plan for after graduation includes attending Texas A&M University.
Jonah Borjas
Jonah Borjas is the male representative for the freshman class. Borjas is a member of many GHS athletics groups, including the football team, basketball team and the track team. His current plan for after graduation includes going to college to study business before going to work in the oil industry.
McKenna Gelser
McKenna Gelser is the female representative for the freshman class. Gelser is a member of the Dazzlers drill team and runs track. Her current plan for after graduation includes attending college.
The homecoming king and queen will be crowned during the halftime portion of the Sept. 19 game against Whitney. Kick off is at 7:30 p.m. at McKamie Stadium.
