1996 (Thirty years ago) Riley Simpson, Republican candidate for Coryell County District Attorney, opened a campaign office in Gatesville. He was challenging Democratic incumbent Sandy Gately. Chaplain Timothy Hunter was named “Employee of the Month” at the Gatesville Unit.

Cross Country: It’s getting down to the nitty- gritty for the GHS runners, who now have just two stops left before competing at the district meet. GHS runs at Cameron (Sept. 18) and Robinson (Sept. 24), then returns to Robinson again on Oct. 12 for the 24-4A meet.

Oglesby ISD announces 2026-2027 Homecoming Court

Oglesby ISD has named 11 seniors to their Homecoming Court for the 2026-2027 football season. One senior will be crowned during their Homecoming game against Oakwood on Friday, Sept. 18, during the game’s halftime show.
