Mother Neff State Park to hold annual Back to Nature Trail Run

Mother Neff State Park will hold its annual Back to Nature Trail Run on Saturday, Feb. 25. There will include a 5K competitive run, a 2-mile fun run, and 1-mile kids run. The trail runs will wind through the nature trails and the park road allowing participants to take in the beautiful scenery of the park. 

 

The 5K competitive run will begin at 8:30 a.m. Awards will be given out to the overall male and females, along with the top three males and females in each age group. Age groups will be 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70 and up. 

 

The 2-mile Fun Run and the 1-mile Kids Run will start at 2 p.m. These trails will not be as challenging as the 5K competitive run, so bring your family out to enjoy a trip through the park. 

 

Kids' 1-mile run will be timed, and runners will receive medals for the top 12 finishers in each category for the boys and girls. 

 

Each race will be capped at 150 participants due to the parking restrictions. Be sure to secure your spot by registering early. The first 200 signups will receive Mother Neff State Park’s commemorative medallion, and all participants in the 5K and 2-mile will receive a t-shirt if registration is completed by Monday, Feb. 6. 

 

All proceeds will be donated to the Mother Neff State Park Association for needed upgrades to the park.

 

Packet pickup will be offered the week of the race at the park starting Monday, Feb. 20, through Friday, Feb. 24 at the park headquarters from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-4 p.m. If you sign up by Saturday, Feb. 18, your packet will be available for pickup. Otherwise, you may pick it up on race day. There will be no race day sign-ups.
