Baseball and softball skills day to be held March 4 

Gatesville Parks and Recreation will hold a 2023 Baseball and Softball Skills Day on Saturday, March 4, at Lions Club Park. The skills day is directed toward children in the age ranges of 8U through 15U. 

Pre-T-Ball and 6U T-Ball players will not be having a skills day. Any child unable to attend the skills day will automatically become a “hat pick” in the draft. A “hat pick” will randomly place the child on a team, rather than giving a coach a chance to select the player. 

Below are the times listed for boys baseball:  

• 14U Kid Pitch, 9 a.m. at the Arnold Field  
• 10U Kid Pitch, 11 a.m. at the Arnold Field  
• 12U Kid Pitch, 2 p.m. at the Arnold Field  
• 8U Coach Pitch, 4 p.m. at the Arnold Field  

Below are the times listed for girls’ softball:  

• 15U Kid Pitch, 9 a.m. at the Box Field  
• 10U Kid Pitch, 11 a.m. at the Box Field  
• 12U Kid Pitch, 2 p.m. at the Box Field  
• 8U Coach Pitch, 4 p.m. at the Box Field  

Remember to bring a glove and a helmet.
