Gatesville Summer Music Camp

A Gatesville Summer Music Camp will be held from June 27-30 (Monday-Thursday) from noon to 4:30 p.m. The camp is open to students who have finished kindergarten through eighth grade. The cost will be $50 per student. The music camp will be held at Gatesville High School in the auditorium and choir room.

Included in the camp will be multiple rehearsals daily, craft time (creating props), “Camp Chat” (recreation time), and a camp T-shirt. There will be a cast party on Thursday, June 30, from 4:30-5:30 p.m., and a pizza dinner will be provided. Following the cast party, all parents, family members and loved ones will be invited to attend the performance at 5:30 p.m. in the GHS Auditorium. The entire cast and chorus will present “A Kid’s Life!” showcasing all of the skills, music, choreography and staging that the children learned throughout the week. Admission will be free.

Lead roles in the play will be for third- to eighth-grade students only. There are several main characters that have multiple speaking lines and/or solos and will require preparation prior to camp week. If your student is interested in one of those roles, auditions will be on Wednesday, May 18, at 4 p.m. in the GHS choir room. Please email the director of choirs, Cherith Wells, at gisdchoir@gatesvilleisd.org to secure the student’s audition spot and get the audition materials. Auditions are closed to the public.

Due to limited space, registration forms and payment need to be provided to the GHS Choir as soon as possible to ensure enrollment. The registration fee is non-refundable. Registration can be done online by visiting the following website: gatesvilleisd.org and then click on “School Store.”
