Mound lost one of its longtime residents, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Bruton, died on Monday, Aug. 7.  Memorial services were held on Saturday at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville.  Private family interment will be scheduled at a future date at the Mound Cemetery.  Mrs. Bruton will truly be missed in our community.

Bridget and Little Miss Rori Shaylyn Wright visited Thursday afternoon with Barbara Hopson.

Samuel Truett Belt was home for the 2023 summer break.  He has returned back to Blinn College in Brenham on Saturday morning.

John Stephens and Donna Schultz visited last Wednesday afternoon in Bryan with Jean Rose.

Neil and Christy Helms for lunch on Sunday. Robert, Emma and Carolyn Blakley went to Pearl on Sunday to visit with Bettie Blakley.
