Cotton Davidson to have book signing Nov. 27

Posted

Gatesville’s own Cotton Davidson will be doing a book signing event at the Coryell Museum and Historical Center on Saturday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.  His book, The Rifleman, has made it through the lengthy production process and a special printing has been made to coincide with his 90th birthday. The book was written by Davidson and Wayland Corgill.

The book is a handsome edition that chronicles much of Cotton’s amazing story from his years growing up in Coryell County, through his many pro-football and coaching years, to settling back into the same area he came from, Gatesville.

At the book signing, there will be food and entertainment, and two videos running. One video is a 1963 Oakland Raiders NFL game film with Cotton in action and the other is a 1994 “Cotton Roast” by his Baylor University friends. The museum has a spacious area for visiting with old friends. The public is invited to come and help celebrate this special occasion and this exceptional citizen of Gatesville.

Early next year, the book will be released to customary book outlets. Until then, it will only be available at the Coryell Museum and Historical Center located at 718 E. Main Street in Gatesville.
