The GISD School Board began in-depth discussions on the 2026-2027 operating budget, as well as school’s tax rate, during a special meeting held on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
According to assistant superintendent of finance LeighAnn Goodwin, who presented the preliminary budget to the board, the overall projected 2026-2027 budget for the school district is $37,529,265.
