Two opportunities to attend Bell County Master Gardener Association workshops

The Bell County Master Gardener Association (BCMGA) will host a hands-on seed starting workshop on Saturday, Jan. 13 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Texas AgriLife Extension Office at the BCMGA Learning Center in Belton.
Certified Master Gardener Wayne Schirner will discuss the requirements for seed germination and how to grow seedlings. Attendees will receive information on when to start seeds to have transplants at the proper time. Schirner will also speak about dense seed planting as well as optional pointers that can assist in seed starting. Everyone will plant seeds that you will be able to take home to germinate and plant in your spring vegetable garden.
The class fee is $20 with a limit of 20 people to attend.

Thursday, Jan. 18
The Bell County Master Gardener Association (BCMGA) will present a free monthly seminar to discuss container vegetable gardening on Thursday, Jan. 18 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Texas AgriLife Extension Office, BCMGA Learning Center in Belton.
The seminar will be hosted by Certified Master Gardener Kathy Love. During the seminar, Love will introduce research-based tips on how to grow your favorite vegetables in containers, as well as on apartment patios. The size of the containers is essential for each variety, meaning it is important to gain knowledge on which ones to select.
The class limit will be 50 people, so be sure to register at bcmgaspeakers@gmail.com.
