Mound News Barbara Hopson
Tim and Cyndee McCarthy, Matt and Asa Dalbeck and children Wyatt, Mattie, Shelly Rose McCarthy, Michael and Sue Pavone of Boston, MA, spent several days last week in Mound with Martha Ann Ares.
Delecia Reynolds visited Thursday afternoon with Barbara Hopson.
Several Mound seniors and juniors attended the junior/senior prom in Gatesville at the Texas Station Event Center. This year’s King and Queen were Thiele Alvarado and Kallyn Moreland.
Ray and John Stephens had their Ukrainian friends from Fort Worth as lunch guests on Wednesday. They were Olga and her son Volodymyr and daughter-in-law Olya.
Holly Bryant and John Stephens went to lunch in Belton on Monday.
Patrick Hopson and Hannah Martin were married in O’Fallon, MO, on Saturday, April 15. Family attending were his parents and sister, Billy, Carol and Allison Hopson, his grandmother, Sherry Hopson, his aunt, Lanelle Hopson Lemons, and cousin, Kyanne Petty Jones.
Katie Sue Hopson received top honors as she was named female vocalist of the year. Katie also was awarded UIL sweepstakes Superior Solo, UIL Superior Ensemble TMEA Texas Music Scholar.
Katie Hopson is so talented. Her numerous awards include the prestigious Texas Music Scholar Award from the Texas Educators Music Association.
Emma Blakley of College Station was home for the weekend to see her family.
Carolyn Blakley was honored on her birthday with a dinner Friday evening at the home of Jerry and Brenda Helms.
Kay Branham and Sue Jones visited Thursday in Bryan with Jean Rose and visited with Mitchell Jackson.
Zach Finch of San Diego, CA and a friend, Katie, of Rock Wall and Jimmy Williamson of Waco visited Saturday with Don and Sue Jones.
Matti and Lillie Mann competed in District livestock judging at College Station this past weekend. Matti received 28th place. Yesterday, Lillie showed her cross pig in Clifton at the Buckles on the Brazos and won Junior Showmanship and Reserved Champion Cross.
