Gatesville Eclipse Proposal

Posted

Viridiana Armendariz and Andy Medeiros, residents of Dallas, are engaged to be married after a picture-perfect proposal under the “diamond ring” eclipse in Gatesville on April 8.
Medeiros, a sergeant first class in the Army Reserves stationed at North Fort Hood in 2020, planned the proposal during a visit to see friends he made while stationed there. Despite warnings of bad weather and traffic delays, the couple witnessed an uninterrupted view of the eclipse while enjoying a romantic picnic in a bluebonnet pasture on their friend’s property.
The proposal itself was a complete surprise to Armendariz. Medeiros had arranged for a friend, a photographer, to be present under the guise of wanting to grow his portfolio. Armendariz, having modeling experience, thought nothing of it at first.
As the eclipse reached totality, Medeiros got down on one knee and popped the question. Armendariz, overwhelmed with emotion, said yes.
The couple is now planning their wedding and looking forward to their future together.
