Churches in Pearl report good attendance on Easter Sunday

Posted

All the churches in Pearl reported big attendances for their Easter services last week. The Pearl Church of Christ (C of C) even had to bring in chairs for the 102 souls that day! Of course, everyone said that Edward Schaub “knocked it out of the park” with his lesson, and he and Judy just bring joy and love wherever they go … especially in their “home” at Pearl. The Pearl C of C also reported that it was wonderful to see Roy and Debbie Harris, their family, and a host of friends fill the pews once again. The Wilkinson, Cummings, Perkins, and Carswell families also made a huge showing that day. Linda Ray said it was like a big family reunion. Of course, Linda got her traditional dousing of confetti eggs during the Easter Egg hunt. She’ll be shaking off confetti until VBS starts the last week in May. (She loves it.)  Pearl knows that children are our future, and we want to provide them with all the happy memories that keep them coming back for generations. There’s no place like Pearl.

The Pearl Church of Christ will hold its annual VBS May 27 through May 31, 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. each day. The theme this year is “Jesus loves You!” Be sure and mark your calendars, and please tell all your friends and family. The Pearl C of C VBS is epic, and you don’t want to miss it.

Okay, everyone. You need to get this read and get out the door to head for Pearl, because this is the big Pearl Bluegrass and Pearl Cottage Bookstore Day. The Bluegrass Kitchen has yummy homemade food for sale at very reasonable prices, and the Pearl Cottage Bookstore has lots of new items. The Stage Show begins around 1 p.m. at The Pearl Community Center with jamming going on all day. Admission is free. Also, at the bookstore, there are about 40 pairs of new and like new women’s sandals, sizes 7.5 and 8, available—just in time for spring. Don’t forget about the over 6,000 books—you need a lot of those for your summer reading. The bookstore is open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. I can’t say it enough—there’s no place like Pearl!

Upcoming speakers at the Pearl Church of Christ: Dr. Charles Patterson, retired Superintendent of the Killeen ISD and currently ministering and living in Corsicana, will be speaking on April 21, (please note-this is a change from the April 7 date) also at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Patterson is a native of Hamilton.

This week’s Bible verses come from Matthew 18:20—"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” NIV
