You will never go hungry at the Pearl Church of Christ

Posted

The Pearl Church of Christ reported 48 in attendance last Sunday. Everyone said that Chris Halpayne delivered an inspiring message and then stated that they enjoyed visiting after the service. This church always has “yummy" food, as my five-year-old grandson has stated with joy. You won’t go hungry spiritually or physically at Pearl Church of Christ!

Speaking of Pearl Church of Christ, mark your calendars for Oct. 20, for the Pearl Church of Christ 129th Homecoming. Dr. Charles Patterson will be the speaker, and there will be a catered lunch following the service. Plaques for the longest attending member, the youngest attending that day, the oldest attending that day, the longest married couple, and the farthest traveled that day will be given. You don’t want to miss this important event! Bring family, friends, and those you just met to Pearl Church of Christ. The friendliness of this church is unparalleled. You will be so glad you came!

The next Pearl Bluegrass and Pearl Cottage Bookstore Day is Nov. 2. Jamming at the Community Center begins at 7 a.m., and the stage show begins at 1 p.m. If you have a band that would like to play on the stage, just sign up on the board in the hallway outside the Bluegrass Kitchen. The kitchen opens at 11 a.m., and you can purchase delicious homemade food at very reasonable prices. Cash only. Admission is for jamming, and the stage show is free! The bookstore opens at 9 a.m., and you can purchase gently used books at the “buy what you want, pay what you want” price. There are over 6,000 books along with various and sundry other neat items for the same “donation” price. Please support these first Saturday events in Pearl (except in September when the event takes place on the second Saturday). It truly takes a village to ensure these events continue long into the future. The money spent stays in the community to support the upkeep and maintenance of the historic Pearl Community Center and the bookstore’s local charities.

This week’s Bible verse comes from Psalm 63:1—You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you. I thirst for You, my whole being longs for You, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.” NIV
