We're jamming all day long at Pearl Community Center

Posted

July 6 is Pearl Bluegrass and Pearl Cottage Bookstore Day. The Bluegrass stage show begins around 1 p.m. but jamming goes on all day long. The Bluegrass Kitchen opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m. Admission is free to watch the stage show and to jam. The kitchen has delicious homemade food, which includes awesome pies and cakes, and the prices are very reasonable. The Pearl Cottage Bookstore opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Bring friends and enjoy a great day in Pearl!

The Pearl Church of Christ will hold its annual Revival on July 6 and 7 with an ice cream supper following the service on the 7th. Speaking will be Chris Halpayne. The church service will begin at 7 p.m. with the ice cream fellowship immediately following. The Sunday morning church service begins at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend and to bring friends, family, and people you just met with you.

The Pearl Community Center Board quarterly meeting will be held July 22, with the fourth quarterly meeting being held on October 28, also at the Pearl Community Center. Both meetings of the Pearl Community Center Board will be at 6:30 p.m. All are invited to attend.

Breaking news from my Reliable Source from Pearl: Mr. M has discovered a new and improved way to gather eggs. His method includes talking charmingly to the hens and then putting a bucket over their heads. At least, I think he puts the bucket over the chicken’s heads, not his own, but I don’t know that for sure. I have asked for a photograph, but one has not been received as of this writing (I think Mrs. Mc was not in favor of sharing such as she felt she might have to sleep in the chicken coop with said birds).  Now, I may have recently been named in a lawsuit for mentioning Mr. R. McD’s name again, so I must be vague to protect the innocent (namely me)! Therefore, I am not mentioning Mr. Ron McD’s name in order to present the new name which the aforementioned is now known: The East Gatesville Chicken Whisperer! Folks, my Reliable Source (whose last name may or may not be “Ray”) has assured me that this is not Fake News. Only in Pearl…and sometimes in East Gatesville!

This week’s Bible verse comes from Proverbs 15:18—Hot tempers cause arguments, but patience brings peace. Good News Translation
