The Oglesby Tigers hosted the Evant Elks in a district basketball contest on Friday, Jan. 3.
The Tigers wasted no time grabbing the lead and maintaining it throughout the night. With this win, the Tigers extended their district lead, 3-0.
The top scorer for the game was Kyler Fossett, scoring a season high of 28 points, with four rebounds, one assist, and eight steals.
Holdyn Goff had a double/double with 12 points, as well as 10 rebounds, five steals, three assists, and one blocked shot.
Evan Williamson scored 11 points and had one assist and two steals.
Alex Castillo scored six points and had three rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Jack Hendricks scored five points and had two rebounds and five steals.
Abram Shaw scored two points and had one assist and one steal.
Jordan Smith had three rebounds.
Tucker Melton had one rebound.
The Tigers traveled to Cranfills Gap on Tuesday, Jan. 7, to play the Lions at 6 p.m. in a district contest. Results from the game will be featured in the Saturday, Jan. 18 edition of The Gatesville Messenger.
