The Team Gatesville Special Olympics organization has begun practicing this month for their basketball competition season, which is set to begin in March.
Practices will be held on Thursday’s from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Gatesville Intermediate School gymnasium, located at 311 Hornet Way. Practices began on Jan. 9, and will be held on Jan. 16, Jan. 23, Jan. 30, Feb. 6, Feb. 13, Feb. 20, and Feb. 27.
The Area 12 individual skills competition will be held on March 8, in Waco.
Requirements to participate include all athletes to be eight years of age and older for competition with no upper age limit, an IDD or comparable delay, and a physical copy of a completed athlete registration form submitted.
Athlete registration forms may be printed from https://www.sotx.org/become-an-athlete, or they can be obtained from Head Coach and Head of Delegation, Heidi Clough, at the first practice.
