Happy St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th! Don’t forget to wear green to avoid the risk of the dreaded pinch. Also, I hope you all remembered to “Spring Forward” last Saturday night.
Getting up an hour earlier is a bit difficult for this old, retired person. It is, however, always fun to count how many people come to church at the end of services. It didn’t seem to be advertised a lot this time period … or maybe I just had selective comprehension about this (dreaded—in my opinion) annual event. Anyway, have you noticed how green and pretty everything looks since the nice rains? I get reports from some of the Pearl crew about rainfall and other weather conditions almost daily. I’m hoping to hear about someone’s first bluebonnet sighting soon, too. I haven’t seen any in east Texas yet, but I have seen the telling sign of their leaves on the ground. The first bluebonnet sighting is a definite mood-lifter!
The next Pearl Cottage Bookstore Day and Pearl Bluegrass event will be April 1. There are so many “new to the bookstore” items ready to be purchased which will make your shopping even more fun. Remember, the bookstore is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on that day. Bring friends and enjoy the unique experience of this treasure. For the newcomers, you will arrive as friends and leave as family. Corlisa, Kay and Linda make sure of that.
Pearl Church of Christ has announced its annual Vacation Bible School dates: May 29 through June 2,, 9 a.m. until noon. Please share this information with all your friends and family. Everyone is welcome.
What did pirates call Noah's boat? The “arrrrrrk."
This week’s Bible verse comes from Deuteronomy 7:9: “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.” (NIV)
