One person was found dead in a building that caught fire on the 3300 block of South State Highway 36 on Monday, according to the Gatesville Police Department.
The Gatesville Volunteer Fire Department and police responded to the incident around 8:17 a.m. on Feb. 10. The building that caught fire belonged to a local business.
After firefighters extinguished the active fire, police said one person was found deceased in an area of the building that was also being used as a residence.
Gatesville Police Chief Jeffrey Clark said no other injuries have been reported.
A State Fire Marshal from Lampasas is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
Investigators are currently working on identifying the victim so they can notify their next of kin, Clark said.
Police say there is no further information at this time.
