Oglesby Independent School District will host an agricultural mechanics showcase on Tuesday, March 18, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. behind the agriculture shop.
Community members and staff will have the opportunity to talk to several high school students who participated in agricultural mechanics projects this year. Students will have their work on display to explain how they planned and created their projects.
This year, 13 Oglesby High School students planned, designed, and built projects ranging from small home furniture to entryway gates.
Agricultural mechanic projects teach students technical skills, problem-solving, and project planning while improving communication skills and providing hands-on experiences with mechanical systems, tools, and engineering concepts.
Additionally, it builds confidence in public speaking and prepares students for real-world applications in agriculture, mechanics, and related fields.
Oglesby ISD is located at 125 College Avenue in Oglesby.
